The Smeal platform incorporates a gravity level-sensing clinometer, rather than a master/slave system found on other platforms. We use this superior system because it is based on gravity, which means the platform will always remain level, even when the truck is positioned on a severe slope. Master/Slave systems level only to the degree at which the truck is positioned. Additionally, our system eliminates 50% of the hydraulic oil lines, which reduces the effects cold weather can have on all hydraulic leveling systems.
